Philip Pratt – Managing Director

Philip Pratt, born in 1980 in Cologne, has acted as Executive Director responsible for Acquisition and Business Development since the foundation of Jakun Media UG in 2008. He specializes in digital film distribution, has long-standing contact to many rights-holders and is familiar with the economic development of the digital video market.

He finished his studies in Film and Television Economics at the University for Film and Television in Potsdam Babelsberg in 2007. During his studies and thereafter he worked as a production manager for made-for-television movies for the SWR and the WDR, as a trainee at ZDF – Das kleine Fernsehspiel, and as an assistant at film20  common interest group. Philip Pratt is the winner of the Studio Hamburg Up-and-Coming Prize 2007 for the feature film “Prussian Gangster” (best movie).

Krystian Miruchna – Business & Legal Affairs

Krystian Miruchna, born in 1980 in Ruda, is a co-founder and is responsible for Business and Legal Affairs. He focuses on the legal and technological aspects of the Video-on-Demand market.

Krystian completed his training as a digital media designer at the Bremen advertising agency Construktiv GmbH in 2004. Besides working numerous freelance jobs for different advertising agencies, he studied Media Computer Science at the Technical University of Berlin until 2006. Thereafter, he has been studying Film and Television Production at the University for Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg.

Company history:

Since 2007 we have intensively devoted ourselves to the digital distribution of video content and the pursuit of the most important market trends.

In May 2008 we moved into the “House of young Producers” inside Studio Hamburg’s office buildings and shortly thereafter successfully distributed a web series derived from the feature film “Prussian Gangstar” (over 250,000 views on MySpace).

Jakun Media UG (haftungsbeschränkt) was founded in November 2008. We have continuously improved our service spectrum since Deutsche Telekom AG, Vivendi Mobile Entertainment and numerous licensors hired us as their content scout and sales team.

Following the establishment of our main office in September 2009, our company headquarters shifted to Berlin in June 2010.

We work as digital distributors for numerous right owners as well as telecommunications providers, entertainment groups, TV stations, web page operators and online portals.
